SAN JOSE (AP) - The third time was the charm for the Honolulu Volcanos.

	Barry Bonds played a prominent role in the Volcanos Weaver Series victory.

After being denied ultimate glory in their previous two post season appearances, the Volcanos ripped their way through the 2000 Weaver League Playoffs, sweeping the New York Nukes in the Inferno League Championship Series and the Havana Cigars in the Weaver Series to claim the 2000 Weaver Cup of Ultimate Power!

All of Hawaii was in a state of serendipity after the Volcanos clinched the greatest championship in all of sport with their Game Four victory over Havana. Fans refused to leave Mauna Loa Park and partied there all night. Many of those who left returned the next afternoon to join the die hard revelers who remained at the park since the night before and some of the Honolulu players for a luau in center field. One Honolulu fan, refering to New York outfielder Ty Cobb (who Volcanos Manager King Kamehameha said was "One with the evil spirits") said, "We've been waiting to 'roast a pig in the outfield' since New York got to town!"

The icing on the cake for the Volcanos came after the series, when it was announced the Honolulu second baseman Nap Lajoie had won the 2000 IL MVP. It was the second MVP Award for Lajoie, who also won the award in 1997.
