CHANGES COMING FOR REPEAT CHAMPION CAPYBARAS
Story by Ralph Kraskiewicz

RIO DE JANERIO (AP) - The reigning Weaver Cup Champion Rio de Janerio Capybaras are looking for a third consecutive Weaver League Title. However, it looks as though the squad that will take the field this season will be a little different than the squad that captured the franchise's third title last season.

Are Sammy's Days in Rio Numbered?

Spring Training has provided a couple of surprises. CF Gabby Brumley has done the impossible and won the starting job from Kenny Lofton, who has patrolled CF for 10 years. Brumley, a late season call-up last year when Lofton got hurt, provided the Capys with great play when it mattered - in September and in the playoffs.

The other surprise has to be the bat of up & comer 1B Isaac Wyndorff. His great play in Spring Training has meant that DH/OF Sammy Sosa is now on the outside looking in. "We are actively shopping Lofton, Sosa and Eric Owens.

"We had originally hoped these three original 'Rats' would finish their careers here. However, the young guys have developed quicker than we had thought. These three guys can easily make up one of the better outfields in baseball."
