April 7, 1997: First game in franchise history

1997 Playoffs: The Capybaras win the first modern Weaver Series! They defeat the New York Nukes in six games.

November 5 , 1997: Jason Kendall wins the first Blizzard League Rookie of the Year Award.

November 6 , 1997: Walter Johnson wins the innagural Blizzard League Cy Young Award.

2001 Playoffs: Rio returns to the postseason after a three year absence. They take the Roehm Division and Blizzard League titles before being swept by the Amity White Sharks in the Weaver Series.

November 7 , 2002: Addie Joss wins the Blizzard League Cy Young Award. It is the first of five straight Cy Young Award wins in a row for the Rio ace. He goes on to win a sixth Cy Young Award in 2008.

2003 Playoffs: The Capys win their third Roehm Division title, but are defeated by the Belfast Bombers in the BLCS 4 games to 2.

June 15 , 2004: Addie Joss throws a perfect game against the Motown Miracles.

2004 Playoffs: Rio de Janerio wins their second Weaver Series title! The Capybaras defeat the Los Angeles Riots in a thrilling seven game series. Many consider Game Seven, capped by Mike Sweeney's two run walk off home run, to be the greatest game in Weaver history.

November 5 , 2004: Sammy Sosa is named the 2004 Blizzard League MVP.

April 22, 2005: Addie Joss throws the second perfect game of his career against the Havana Cigars.

May 15, 2005: Addie Joss throws his second perfect game in just under a month, this time against the Paris Patriotes.

2005 Playoffs: The Capybaras are the first team to win back-to-back Weaver Series! They defeat the Amity in five games.

November 2 , 2005: Carlos A. Hernandez wins the Blizzard League Rookie of the Year Award.

September 30 , 2006: Addie Joss throws a perfect game, the second time he has thrown one against Motown.

2006 Playoffs: Rio's quest for a three-peat is denied. Los Angeles avenges it's 2004 Weaver Series defeat, defeating Rio 2-1 in Game Seven of the Weaver Series.

2007 Playoffs: The Capybaras win their fifth straight Roehm Division title, but they are defeated in the BLCS by Belfast in six games.

July 5, 2008: Addie Joss throws a perfect game against the Edmonton Orcas. It's the fifth perfect game of Joss' career.

2008 Playoffs: The Capys win their fourth Weaver Series! They defeat the Cozumel Mayans 4 games to 1.

April 16, 2010: Oscar Munoz no-hits the Jamaica Rastafarians.

2010 Playoffs: After a rare postseason absence in 2009, the Capybaras retake the Roehm Division crown before losing to perennial BLCS foe Belfast 4 games to 1.

May 8, 2012: Dutch Leonard throws an eleven inning no-hitter against the Cairo Scorpions.

August 11 , 2012: Dutch Leonard defeats Jamaica for his second no-hitter of the season, this time a perfect game.

November 7 , 2012: Carney Stillwell is named Blizzard League Rookie of the Year.

September 21 , 2013: Smokey Joe Wood throws a perfect game against Jamaica.

November 7 , 2013: After his reign of terror against Inferno League hitters, Smokey Joe Wood claims his first of back to back Blizzard League Cy Young Awards.

2014 Playoffs: The Capys win their fifth Weaver Series! They defeat the Johannesburg Steelmen in six games.

November 7 , 2014: Alfredo Hernandez wins the 2004 Blizzard League MVP.

November 7 , 2018: Ray Rice is named Blizzard League Rookie of the Year.

November 4, 2020: Art Louden wins the Blizzard League Rookie of the Year award.

November 2-4, 2022: The Capybaras sweep the postseason awards in the Blizzard League. Otie Smith wins the ROTY, Dutch Leonard wins the Cy Young, and Cary Chien is named MVP.

February 4, 2023: Sammy Sosa inducted into the Weaverball Hall of Fame.
