Timeline
April
7, 1997:
First game in franchise history.
January
1, 1999:
After deciding that Baghdad might not be the most stable
market for their franchise, management relocates the
Baghdad
Scuds to Georgia and renames the team the Atlanta
Rebels.
November
7, 2001:
Alan Mitchell is awarded the Blizzard League Rookie
of the Year award.
January
1, 2005:
The franchise is on the move again. The Rebels are moved
to France and renamed the Paris Patriotes.
January
1, 2008:
After three seasons it's aparent that the French don't
give a rats ass about baseball, so the team moves to
Japan and is renamed the Tokyo
Samaurais.
January
1, 2010:
Management once again decides that it's time for the
team to hit the road. The Samaurais are moved to Ireland
and are renamed the Dublin
Disaster.
January
1, 2012:
The Dublin Disaster are a disaster at the gate. The
team is moved yet again, they head to Sweden and are
renamed the Stockholm Swedes.
November
1, 2017:
Tony Von Fricken is named Rookie of the Year in the
Blizzard League.
May
29, 2018:
Second year ace Tony Von Fricken tosses a no-hitter
against the Vancouver Mounties.
2020
Playoffs: The Swedes win their first ever Barnes
Division title! In a hard fought BLCS they take the
Long Beach Lobsters the distance
but lose in the seventh game.
November
6, 2020: Ernie Banks is named MVP of the Blizzard
League.
