RIO DE JANERIO (AP) - Earlier in the week, the Rio de Janerio Capybaras introduced their newest ace pitcher, Mike Mussina to the media. They had earlier completed a deal that saw long time Capybara pitcher Mariano Rivera as well as prospect Brad Lincoln pack their bags and make the move to Taipei.

"The motivation behind this deal was to obtain a second upper tier starter. Our Joss-less defeat to the Belfast Bombers last season made us realize we were placing all of our eggs in one (Joss) basket. We are confident Mike is the man who will help us bring the Weaver Cup back to Rio.", explained GM Ralph Kraskiewicz.

"It seems most of the teams are heading in the direction of powerful hitting lineups. Well, in typical Rio fashion, we fight offence with the best way we know how, superb pitching and defense", he continued.

Mussina didn't dissapoint either. In his first start in Capy red, white and blue, he pitched 8 shutout innings, before giving way to closer Gabe White in a 3-0 victory over the Tokyo Samaurais.

With Joss, Mussina, Ogea and Hitchcock, Rio certainly has one of the, if not the best starting rotation in the league. Come playoff time, the top three are going to be very difficult to beat indeed.
