VANCOUVER (AP) - The Vancouver Mounties of the Weaver League have sent a fax to the league offices outlining their proposal for a new league awards system.

"They always said, if it ain't broke don't fix it - well it's painfully obvious that the league awards system is broke", said GM Cory Muzyka. "We've taken the time to sit down and work out a new league awards system which not only respects the pathetic decisions of the Dreaded Computer, but allows the commish to make judgement calls in the awards."

The Mounties proposal would create two sets of awards - ones chosen by the computer and ones chosen by the commish. Each award would have its own page, and DC and League awards would both be listed side-by-side.

"We think it's completely ridiculous that Josh Homme gets MVP in a league he played in for less than half of the season, while a guy like Rich Aude completely dominates the league for the entire season and doesn't even get a sniff of an award. We think it's ridiculous, especially when you look at their stats and compare."

Rich Aude, a former Vancouver Mountie and current member of the Long Beach Lobsters who was not protected in the Free Agent draft, was not available for comment.

"The Weaver League has done some interesting things in its time - Bob Davis as two-time Rookie of the Year would rank right up there - and we think that it's time we as a league did the league awards correctly."
