CAPE TOWN (AP) - Bobby Cundiff, GM of the Cape Town Convicts, held a meeting today and here is what he had to say... "Cape Town is going through a lot of changes and have had their worst season in league history. I don't really know where to start. I think I have brought in some good guys to help put together a new start for the team. We have had a two time Cy Young Award winner and a Rookie of the Year."

1997 - Bob Gibson, Rome 24-3, 1.64 ERA, 233 K's
1998 - Bob Gibson, Rome 20-7, 1.91 ERA, 158 K's

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
2001 - Anthony Lewis, Kabul .192 AVG, 25 HR, 46 RBI

"We have been going downhill sence 2004 and we need to get back to the top of the league like when we where Rome Centurians and Kabul Mujahadeen. After the 2003 season the team droped off the map and we have to put them back on there.

"I hate to do this because Silkah Budrah is a good manager, has been with the team from the start, and has done a great job but for the last few years, but he just hasn't done the job for us lately. I want to introduce you to the new coach who will take over after the season... it will be none other then soon to be former All-Time pitcher Bob Gibson. I think Bob will help make the team what I want it to be and thats a contender."

Bob Gibson signed a 4 year contract to coach the team through 2011 with an option for 2012.
