Berlin slugger Roberto Clemente made the most of his two at bats for the Inferno League in the 2002 All-Star Game, blasting two home runs to take MVP honors. .

CHICAGO (AP) - Roberto Clemente of the Berlin Brewmasters hit two home runs after entering the game as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning, and nine Inferno League pitchers combined to hold Blizzard League batters to only three hits as the IL rolled to a 5-0 victory over the BL in the 2002 All-Star Game. The Inferno League scored all five of it's runs on solo home runs. In addition to Clemente's pair, the IL bombs were hit by New York's Chipper Jones, Gobi's Ted Williams, and Kabul's Rafael Palmeiro.

Blizzard League batters could not find an answer for the IL pitchers. The BL had only four baserunners in the game, and had only two in scoring position for the game! One pitcher for the IL who stood out was Chernobyl pitcher Al Raich. Raich came into the game in the seventh and blew away the heart of the BL order, throwing 10 strikes on 11 pitches against Jamaica's Babe Ruth, Belfast's Mickey Mantle, and Havana's Joe Dimaggio!

For his two home runs, Clemente was named All-Star MVP with Raich receiving an honorable mention.
