TOKYO (AP): Today the Tokyo Tsunamis announced the signing of #3
overall Ammy draft pick pitcher Troy Peters.

"This is a great day for our franchise, said a smiling Mike Wilson at a draft day press conference.

"We wanted and arm for the future, and we got the best one in the draft. This kid is a stud, he was #1 on our board, and we could't be happier to have him."

When asked if a pitcher with five pitches can make it in the league Wilson interrupted, "Who cares if its ten, he is the most gifted athelete in the draft, and we got him, let us worry about that."

"Other owners say we took a chance, if we did so what, we want to win. He is the best pitcher in on our organization today, he was just too good to let fall to someone else."

Peters stated, "Its an honor to be drafted by a team that wants to win so badly, abd to be in a position to help this team today."

Commenting on whether Peters would immediatly join the big club Wilson said, "Probably not, we want him to get acclimated to pro ball, on and off he field. The best place for that is the minors for right now."

"This kid is not going to save this franchise, no player can do that he is not Superman, noone is, he is a special talent we hope can contribute and help us win a title down the line."

Wilson laer comented that the drafting of Peters did not effect thier overall draft strategy. "We are going to take the best player for our team. Will that be a pitcher or fielder, who knows, we want whoever can help us the most."

When pressed by the Japanesse media when would the team contend Wilson was evasive, "We will contend when we are ready. Not a season ago this was a bad old team. Now we are a young bad team, give us time..."

Whe further pressed Wilson said, "I would think we will be a much better team on the field by 2014-2015, that is my best guess."

When asked if he would try to make more deals this season he stated, "We are always looking to get better. I think I have shown I am not affraid to make a deal, or take a chance. Other owners should know by now my door is always open I'll talk trades day or night, anything is possible!"
