SAN JOSE (AP) - Editor's Note: These are the 2021 Power Rankings. They're late. Deal with it.

1. LONG BEACH LOBSTERS - They walked to a Weaverball record 134 Wins in 2020. Put into baseball terms, the Lobsters hit a stand-up, inside-the-park, game-winning, grandslam. Long Beach returns Walsh, Alexander, and Hubbell to their rotation and will be incredible hard to deal with. All-Timers are up and down the lineup from Tris Speaker to George Sisler to Honus Wagner. And last I heard, they were shopping for more help.

2. NEW YORK NUKES - This Nukes team got swept out 4-0 in the Weaver Series, but still look to be the class of the Inferno League. Dean Chance has won 20 games six times, and is back in healthy form. The offense is still led by homegrown outfielders Frank Weik and Fred Hawkins, and will be anchored by talented 1B Roberto Castillo. Donnie Mackiewicz, who fled for Bora Bora in the offseason, will be replaced by Al Johnson and Anthony Hazlett, a definate downgrade for the defending IL Champs, but not enough to deflate them.

3. STOCKHKOLM SWEDES - Despite losing C James Waddle to an early retirement, the Swedes are basically the same team that won 105 games last season. Possessing a rotation with zero All-Timers, they are deep 1-5. Horace Scherbarth, Junior Dawley, Paul Sechrist, Tony Von Fricken, John Murphy. Spread amongst other teams and you might have three #3 arms, but stacked together in Stockholm and they are the 5 Aces.

4. CAIRO SCORPIONS - These same Scorpions used to be the laughing stock of the league, but they currently have things completely turned around. Built around studs like C Cleo Prince and SS Rod Lewis, the Scorps continue to improve all over the place. The outfield consists of four veteran sluggers--Donovan Barnett, Edward Sandoval, Floyd Lauer, and James Coleman--and second base is handled by speedy Mike Beckley. The key for Cairo will be to get Rube Waddell's W-L record back to 2019's 24-6 rather than 2020's 11-11.

5. LOS ANGELES RIOTS - Not long ago these Riots were winning the Weaver Series, and now they are fighting to stay relevant. Veteran hitters SS Ed Santos (retired) and 1B John Garcia (Tehran via FA) are both gone, replacing them will be SS Jesse Gan and C Rick Clack. Sounds bad, but they still have an outfield consisting of LF Frank Cater, CF Lance Hinsley, and RF Scott Schaefer, plus a rotation anchored by Cy Young winner Luis Tiant. Behind All-Timer Tiant will be the mid-20's trio of Jeff Jose, Greg Ellis, and Sam Thorpe, which should equal plenty of Quality Starts.

6. CHERNOBYL MUTANTS - It may have taken Chernobyl a while to arrive, but here they are. The defending Polanski Champions head into 2021 in good shape for another run. MVP Al Simmons leads a cast of Mutants who can hit the baseball. Supporting Simmons will be other big hitters like SS Buddy Tyler, 2B Eric Perinet, CF Hector Fullmer, and 3B Charlie Cudworth. With those guys batting inside of Reactor 2, it should make for another season of big offensive output. Despite all those hitters, though, these Mutants will go as far as the Three R's--Starters Jim Ryan and Clay Roe, plus Closer Jimmy Risberg--will take them.

7. BERLIN BREWMASTERS - This Berlin version of the Brew Crew can't escape 3rd place despite a bunch of moves meant to throw them over the top. With all the moves made this current make-up of the Brewmasters could be the best ever because of the balanced pitching and hitting attack. Veteran CF Gabby Brumley will lead the offense, but will need plenty of support from guys like CF Art Windle, 2B Jim Tipper, and SS Woody Oliva. Their rotation with names like Frank Callahan, Art Gaetti, Joe Knight, and John Camnitz doesn't contain any slouches either.

8. AMITY WHITE SHARKS - This version of the White Sharks seems like it is gonna have to take a step toward the division crown. MVP candidates Chuck Klein and Alan Donnersberger lead one of the more homer-happy lineups in the IL. Ben Stuffel covers RF as well as anybody in the league, and at 26, he already has one 30HR/30SB season under his belt. Amity, like several other teams, have a solid rotation top to bottom, but for the White Sharks its gonna depend on Derek Ballinger at the top of their rotation and Bill Butler at the end of their rotation. They don't have an All-Time ace, so they need similar production one through five.

9. RIO DE JANERIO CAPYBARAS - The Capys have rebounded from their rebuilding days, but they're currently playing second-fiddle to the Lobsters out in the Roehm division. 3B Hugh Baumann is a monster, teamed up with 2B Ray Rice, and the Capys have one of the best duos in the entire league. With speedsters LF Jack Crump and CF Art Louden batting 1st and 2nd, this should score plenty of runs. Pitching has been the question in Rio. Beyond Dutch Leonard, the Capys have guys like Billy Schwarz, Todd Long, Bob Penske, but nobody who can measure up to what the Lobsters are sending out to the mound.

10. TEHRAN KNIGHTS - The Knights are going to hit a ton of homeruns. They have four players--LF Matty Dauss, SS Terry Fitzpatrick, 1B Pat Hutchinson, 2B Carlos A. Hernandez--who have topped 50 HR in Tehran, and now they add 1B John Garcia via FA, who should top 30+ HR as the likely everyday 1B. There are literally just 11 pitchers in the entire Tehran organization, so I'm not sure how far this team can really expect to go. Luckily, there are some real quality-type arms in those 11 total arms. Guys Hal Newhouser, Bob Schwert, Steve Nolan, and Horace Shields are really gonna have to hold their own--as well as stay healthy.

11. HAVANA CIGARS - This is one of those teams with a dominant All-Timer starter in Vida Blue, followed up by a slew of solid ones like Bill Luebber, John Tankersley, but are backed up by stud-relievers Andre Gonzales and Ken Gossage. Next in the line of Havana relievers is Charles Hargesheimer, who posted a 1.10 ERA in 32.2 IP of work last season. The Cigars are steady for a reason, and its because they always keep around a good amount steady players. Up and down their lineup are hitters like SS Alfred Griffin Jr., SS Vern Remlinger, 1B Milt Fisk, CF Phil Whitcher, 3B Brad Stewart, and here comes CF Bernard Spongberg and RF Bob Bush.

12. COZUMEL MAYANS - New ownership was brought into Cozumel, and they immediately re-shaped the roster with a couple of trades. They have a potent offense, but the best place to start is with Tom Seaver. Even though the Mayans' newest All-Timer has yet to really establish an identity within Weaverball, he is the ace of the staff, and one of the top power arms in Weaver. Arms like Slim Davis and Gorman Innis can hold their own, but it will take a steady dose of offense to get this team anywhere. Hitters like 2B Terry Whitted, SS Nestor Eugino, and LF Kevin Carbone make this team tick.

13. EDMONTON ORCAS - They aren't the same Orcas that were winning back-to-back Roehm Division pennants, but they should be improved over what the 2019/2020 Orcas accomplished. Lee Valdes, a longtime staple of the Edmonton rotation, leads the 2021 Orcas into competition. With continued steady performances from Don Brett, Gene Aspromonte, Joe Herman, and Mike Jones, the Orcas should remain relevant. The oncoming presence of 11 players with 70+ CH means that this team could start back up the ladder.

14. TOKYO TSUNAMIS - Despite a drastic rebuilding job, the Tsunamis remain a competitive team in the Barnes Division. They are far from being the team that won or lost four-straight Weaver Series, but led by Steve Carlton and Bob Benjamin, Tokyo is still solid. C Francis Balmaceda came over in the Ron Guidry trade, and is an immediate ROTY candidate. Meanwhile, RF Ben Huffman, who came as part of the return for Denny McLain, has one of the purest power strokes in all of Weaverball.

15. JAMAICA RASTAFARIANS - Hard to say if the Rastas will be this good, but they have the makeup. They have Russ Ford leading a rotation, and followed by sturdy-types like Ed Bullard and Adam Pressley. All winning teams seem to have good-hitting shorstops like Cary Chien, and Jamaica has him. They also have a catcher with MVP-talent in Ed Paskert, but the other pieces like slugger 1B Paul Burnett and RF Johnny Flaherty haven't really held their weight.

16. SYDNEY REBELS - Goodbye cold Moscow misery, hello sunny beaches of Sydney! We'll see if it changes where this franchise sits in the standings, but a full season of Ron Guidry surely won't hurt their chances. The Rebels really have to get positive results out of their other pitchers like Troy Peters, Fred Bordick, Bob Barton, and Paul Olien. Without 15+ wins out of two of those names, Sydney will be an also-ran in the Polanski. Sydney's offense has a couple names in the lineup, mainly Hank Greenberg and Jesse Powell, but all-in-all it just isn't quite enough.

17. SICILY GODFATHERS - Here is one of the hardest teams to figure out because of the amount of youngsters making their debut in Sicily. This franchise can boast one of the biggest pileups of young talent as anywhere in the league. The Godfathers boast a collection of rookie hitters such as C Pop Ryba, 1B Bill Burke, 2B Hoge Shupe, 3B George Witt, and RF John Adkinson, plus CF Steve Meara waits in LOW-ball for his turn. Pitching is what Sicily needs to work on. They do have a couple of good arms in Arturo Diego and Gene Gentry, but they definately need LOW ball guys such as Cam Williams, Odie Shea, and Joe Aragon to make an impact in coming seasons.

18. HONOLULU VOLCANOS - This franchise seems to slip up and down from season to season, but every few years they come through with a solid team. Entering 2021, the Volcs are lead by LF Albert Pujols, but are going to lean much of their offensive output on the production of a pair of talented shortstops--Henry Bare and Jim Shamsky. Other sluggers like Mitch McCoy, Jake Neel, and Sam Ferriss will round out this lineup which should be able to put up some runs. The recipients of those runs--Stan Englund, Gail Simons, George Dalton, and the other starters--could have a chance to win some games.

19. VANCOUVER MOUNTIES - The Mounties were able to bring home All-Timer Denny McLain, but it just doesn't seem like enough to get things turned around. Things just get too mediocre after McLain. Mel Taveras and Dave Schypinski have terrific command, but don't do enough to put hitters away, and hard-throwing lefties like Pepper Mesa and Doug Phillippe don't have enough command. Speedy Cameron Priest teams up with Barney Rothschild as a pair of talented outfielders, but it just isn't enough for the Mounties to make much impact in the standings.

20. HONG KONG DRAGONS - You can tell the depth of the league has grown when a talented roster like HK falls all the way to 20th. The Dragons boast some fantastic hitters in 1B Mike Eisenreich and 3B Randy Bambrough, but the pitching staff is lacking. They definately have an ace in the hole when it comes to new All-Timer Carl Hubbell, but after that it drops. Bob Ellis has always performed, but goes to setup duties to start with the Dragons. There are some positive pieces in Hong Kong, but there is still some sorting out to do.

21. BOMBAY ELEPHANTS - Earl Zavaras is still leading the Elephants, but they aren't quite what they used to be. A late-season trade that sent off longtime Elephants Robert Castillo and William Upshaw Jr. signaled the end of a successful run. There are still some other hitters such as LF Darius O'Neal and SS John Halbriter but not enough firepower to score the runs needed to survive in the IL. Whitey Ford gets the job done, but can't guarantee a win against Tiant, Chance, or Seaver, and Bobby George and Cobe Stone are steady pitchers, they haven't shown the ability to pitch their team over the top.

22. BORA BORA SURFRIDERS - They have been down recently, but have some talent to turn it around. The current outfield has Fred Dunlap, Howie Foss, and Sam Thomas, and they have top prospects CF Cam Lowe and RF Dick Wills waiting to earn some AB's. 1B Jake Smith is more than prepared to take over at firstbase for Red Kinlock, but is stalled out in LOW-ball for the Surfriders. Bora doesn't have any top-notch pitchers, but Ben Harnisch has always performed well, and Todd Crosby, when healthy, is one of the more talented second-tier arms in the league.

23. ARGENTINA ARCHERS - They just aren't very talented anymore. The Archers were formerly the cream of the Polanski crop, but their roster has dwindled and the farm system hasn't produced as many prospects as they've needed. RF Charlie Rodriguez and SS Harry Brinkman found their way into honorable mention for ROTY honors the past couple years, but 1B Les Deering can't handle so much of the offensive load by himself. Harry Krause is still the top arm in Argentina, and even though the rest of the staff isn't that bad, guys like Santiago Bowling and Chris Campbell just haven't been enough.

24. MOSCOW RED ARMY - The team formerly known as the Johannesburg Steelmen, have been rebuilding for a couple seasons now and are just starting to see some dividends of those years. Talented C Charlie Bergh is one of the more obvious names, but CF Vince Gonzales should help out, while RF Ray Linton, the most talented outfielder in the organization, and former #1 overall, will be making his presence felt sooner than later. Pitchers Sludge Franklin and Joey Hernandez were also a couple of former high draft picks who are getting close to the Moscow rotation.
