TOKYO MIDSEASON REPORT... PTI STYLE!
Story by Mike Wilson

WASHINGTON D.C. (AP) - Tony Kornhieser and Michael Wilbon hired to do Tokyo mid season report...

(Begin show feed here)

Tony Kornheiser: You may ask yourselves boys and girls... what are these ugly mugs doing on our video monitor? Where is Mike Wilson and wasn't this supposed to be the Tsunamis 2013 mid-season report? Well fear not intrepid viewer this IS the Tokyo mid-season report and I am Tony Kornheiser, and the dashinly dreesed black man next to me is...

Michael Wilbon: ... Michael Wilbon and since Mr. Wilson's sizeable check will put our children through college we are proud to present to you the Mike Wilson 2013 Tokyo Tsunamis' team repot PTI style!

TK: Tsunamis' doesn't sound right should it be Tsunami singular and plural like carp and carp or something. I'm no english scholar, wait yes I am...

MW ... Anyway Tony lets take a look at the 2013 TsunamiS at the halfway point of the season... What stands out for you Tone?

TK: I'll tell ya what stands out, that smell... as in this team stinks, like my radio show stinks. This team is horrible, bad, putrid, it should be put out of our misery...

MW: Well don't hold back Tony tell us what you feel...

TK: Well I feel sick, but this is not the time or place for that discussion. This team is bad, but it does seem to have a bright future.

MW: Your right Tone, I mean who are these guys? Williams, Zorrilla, Miller, Brown, Boone... when you are a GM and you check the waiver wire every week to see who is going to be the latest addition to your starting lineup, your team is in trouble...

TK: Ya know they are lucky they are in Japan, I hear the fans thier have a lot of patience which is good because this team is so far from contending maybe the season ticket holder's grandkids will see it contend.

MW: Its not all bad though, heck its only half bad...

TK: Yeah the half on the field...

MW: They have what many consider the best young pitching staff in baseball with 3 high first round pick arms waiting for the call up from the low minors.

TK: And that isn't all either, P Bob Benjamin is having a remarkable season, and has to be in the lead for the rookie of the year award in the Blizzard League... his sub-3.00 ERA however is severly tarnished by his being on pace to lose 26 games this season... I mean give the kid a bat, I know you got the DH but come on how bad can be if he's gonna lose let him go down swinging...

MW: He certainly leads a strong crop of arms, but the bats ain't chopped liver anymore... Tokyo's minors are quickly filling with young skilled position players like CF Cameron Priest, Allen Donnersberger, LF Jeff Magner among others.. One day soon in Tokyo youth will be served, as long as these guys continue to mature and improve that is...

TK: It's rumored the CEO/GM has tried to pull off several major deals to bring in veteran talent... my question is where is it?

MW: What do you mean where is it, what do you want him to do, GIVE AWAY the family jewels to gain a couple of middle of the road vets... you're crazy, he should stick to his course and build with youth, anyways he is going to get an All-Timer soon anyway...

TK: Yeah right we all know Rogers Hornsby is gonna play til he's 60!

MW: Well actually a little bird told me that the good Mr. Wilson wants to take a Negro Leaguer for his all-timer... Only this leageue doesn't allow it, becuase they don't have MLB stats or something... and well, they don't have MLB stats because MLB would not let them play in their league.

TK: Yeah, I knew you were going to bring this up... And I actually agree with you on this one thing... Negro Leaguers should definetly be allowed in Weaverball and here's why: First to discriminate against this particular group of players solely because they were discriminated against once before in the past is an embarassment to this fine league and all of its owner members. Secondly, You mean to tell me a league that had a team on Planet X, and routinely employs time travel to recruit the best MLB players from the past can not in its infinite wisdom devine some stats, equivilents or anecdotal information to rate the abilities and tendencies of these players! This is a farce, an outrage of the highest order... And ya know what I'm so mad about it I'm through, this show is over! (Tears off mic, storms off set)

MW: Well TK, you've done it again... I guess what we have been paid to tell you is its another tough year in Tokyo, but the future is definetly brighter than it has ever been.
